It's possible Pierce may be questioned on his representation of several Proud Boys who've been charged in connection w/J6. He represents more members of the group than any other single lawyer.

Note: Ryan is not seeking release from jail. He's seeking to be detained in PA rather than VA, bc in PA he can get better medical treatment and pay off a probation violation. https://t.co/jUKM6XKHPZ

Tomorrow's hearing in the Samsel case is calendared as an ascertainment of counsel hearing. Samsel has bounced around through three different lawyers. Tomorrow the court will hear from his current one who wants to leave and his new one, John Pierce, who is coming in. https://t.co/Re4psuyjTP

Interesting mini-battle brewing in the case of Texas 3 Percenter Guy Reffitt.
Reffitt recorded some of Jan. 6 on a helmet Go Pro camera. The FBI believes he transferred videos to a tablet.
Now they want an order compelling him to unlock the tablet before it password freezes. https://t.co/Rlr7GUBXbo

A coalition of media organizations has filed motions in several J6 cases asking the govt to release any videos used as exhibits in bail hearings. Yesterday prosecutors released a clip of ex-NYPD cop Thomas Webster assaulting cops. More videos are likely to be released soon.

Fairlamb remains in custody as his case moves toward resolution.
"The defendant’s history of punching people in the face suggests that he may punch people in the face again," Judge Royce Lamberth, dry as dry can be, wrote in his order detaining Fairlamb. https://t.co/DI9piiPmrE

JUST IN: Prosecutors, responding to a motion by the media, have released a video of NJ man Scott Fairlamb assaulting a police officer at the Capitol.
You'll see (and hear) the punch about halfway through this clip. https://t.co/mXUXuOicQi

Webster told the FBI that the cop he attacked sucker-punched him first. He said he felt "upset" and "violated."
It's fairly remarkable to see a career police officer recount an experience of policing at protests from the other side of the fence. https://t.co/pbR4ZlMx7X

In an interview with the FBI, Webster admitted he got "a little worked up" when the Capitol cop waved him on in an encouraging way.
After 20 years on the NYPD, he still described it as "a barroom type moment." https://t.co/BUzVWGPuSK

Webster, who spent 20 years in the NYPD, says the officer at the Capitol urged him to attack "by using provocative hand gestures."
Webster ended up beating the cop with his Marine Corps flag & flagpole. https://t.co/s6NIC7F9tY

Thomas Webster, a former NYPD cop who once served on Mayor Bloomberg's protective detail, says he only attacked a cop at the Capitol b/c he was angry about "police use of force" against J6 protesters.
He filed papers overnight trying to get out of pretrial custody. https://t.co/4HvMAky3z8

McHugh, prosecutors say, also has a long criminal history including three rape charges--two of which appear to be against victims who were underage.

"The vast majority of these offenses occurred while McHugh was on probation and being supervised," prosecutors write. https://t.co/osW8YETRHR

Prosecutors also filed papers overnight seeking to detain SeanMcHugh, another rioter who was very busy in early in the Capitol assault.
There is evidence that McHugh:
*riled the crowd w/a megaphone
*scuffle w/cops
*sprayed them w/chemical spray https://t.co/AccWkNzzf4

Jensen was also armed when he confronted Officer Goodman, prosecutors say. He was carrying a pocket knife with a 3-inch blade, they say. https://t.co/faf1A6rWUU

The FBI scrubbed Jensen's photo and found selfies.
"Jensen took pride in his...assaults on law enforcement," prosecutors wrote. "Indeed, moments after the standoff had subsided, Jensen began taking trophy selfies...w/a stolen officer hat." https://t.co/K0fVklqix5

Jensen is best known for confronting Officer Eugene Goodman inside the Capitol but prosecutors found footage of him climbing an exterior staircase.
At the top, they say, he raised his arms and shouted--apparently not knowing where he was (?)--"Storm the White House!" https://t.co/4QT9xPMktU

In a detention memo filed overnight, prosecutors scold Q-Anoner Doug Jensen for claiming he'd been victimized by the conspiracy theory.
At 41, they wrote, Jensen should have "enough judgment" not to fall prey to conspiracies & violently break into the Capitol. https://t.co/dzpI95vmh7

Morgan-Lloyd will also have to pay restitution of $500 to the govt.
Prosecutors in their sentencing memo reiterate that they want the J6 defendants to pay for the $1.5 million in damages to the Capitol.
"That fiscal burden should be borne by the rioters, not innocent taxpayers." https://t.co/jy2XKZ2Jij

It will be interesting to see how many J6 defendants w/only misdemeanor charges the govt will consent to getting no jail time. Defense lawyers say that prosecutors are committed to some jail time for anyone charged with a felony.
