a few weeks ago I got hired at a coffee shop. it’s minimum wage and they didn’t tell me until after a couple weeks that I don’t get tips for 3 months. I have 10 years of serving/barista experience so i found another job & politely gave this two weeks… right is her response lmao https://t.co/yN0fKQ0bPf
This whole narrative of “people aren’t taking service industry jobs because they’re living high on the hog from pandemic benefits” is total bullshet. People aren’t taking service industry jobs because the pay sucks and many business owners are predators. Case in point… https://t.co/AgcZJjhOGd
The Lincoln Project is about to get a lot of donations but Here’s the thing about this thread by Steve Schmidt, why democracy is in danger, and why people love Donald Trump: A thread. https://t.co/RvajMe1PON
This is a long, yet important thread. And explains so much of what has gone on in my brain thinking about ‘The Lincoln Project’. I encourage everyone to read this all the way through. https://t.co/wA8CCOwWrE
I think the main reason I don’t have whining men in my mentions is because I very rarely call them out when they say idiotic things. Sure, I notice and roll my eyes, but honestly, I prefer to expend my energy in other ways. It’s my choice and in no way an indictment of others.
Tired of men acting all incredulous when I say they don’t give a fuck about us. The vast majority of you don’t. Sure maybe you have a wife or a kid and you like them ok, but you’re not doing anything to change a world that treats them worse than it treats you. Sorry. You aren’t.
Because of the pandemic, workers who perform thankless jobs in the service industry, like retail, restaurants, hotels and summer camps, are moving on and getting other jobs. I don’t blame them. Who actually wants to work with the general public? Most are entitled assholes.
