Fun Fact

46% of U.S. social media users now access platforms such as Twitter and Facebook via their mobile phone, up 9% – almost one-quarter overall – from 2011.

ALSO NEW HERE: PAUL MANAFORT talked frequently with TRUMP in the final days, & urged the outgoing president not to pardon RICK GATES, who had cooperated with MUELLER's investigators. Trump did not pardon Gates. with @EricLiptonNYT @maggieNYT & @nytmike https://t.co/6nwu9nGo1U

Realistically Trump was never going to pardon Gates, but it also of note that Trump was chatting with Manafort, who he did pardon, frequently in the final days. https://t.co/0komEJnSEk

EXCLUSIVE: Trump allies -- like a former campaign staffer and even his former personal lawyer, John Dowd -- have sold their access to Trump, taking $$$ from wealthy felons to lobby Trump and White House aides, like Jared Kushner, for pardons. w/@kenvogel https://t.co/AlxdmrFVn0

Trump's former personal lawyer, John Dowd, told others he could use his in with Trump to help convicts land pardons and said Trump would look favorably on convicts prosecuted by SDNY. Late last night, Dowd came through for his client Billy Walters as Trump commuted his sentence. https://t.co/mUetatj5iU

TRUMP also commuted the sentence of BILL WALTERS, convicted on insider-trading related charges. Walters had hired Trump’s ex-lawyer JOHN DOWD, who bragged he could help obtain pardons because of his close relationship with Trump, as @nytmike & I reported: https://t.co/Ml8WH6BXSu

NSA moves forward with hiring Trump loyalist Ellis after Pentagon chief orders he be installed as general counsel. It will be tough for Biden to fire him. But not to reassign him to a less important position. W/@nytmike https://t.co/IkXBm3Gb3I

Thoughts: 1) OLC has twice said bribery statute applies to POTUS despite absence of plain statement. And others subject to bribery statute if warranted. 2) SDNY did an extensive investigation for the possible "sale" of Clinton's late-term pardons. Same will happen here.

Can you explain what the bribery statute would apply to and not apply to? https://t.co/9k1j73qYfu

“It’s like a conflict of interest,” Giuliani told us. Giuliani said he had been told of the large fees that are being offered to folks like himself to help with lobbying for pardons but said he was not interested because “I have enough money. I’m not starving.”

Giuliani, who is hoping Trump pardons him, says the account about $2 mil to help with pardons is false. Giuliani says he never would have taken money to lobby Trump to pardon someone.

The man who reported it to the FBI @rjmaclean and Kiriakou both say that they have not heard from the FBI. Kiriakou told me he was not mad that @rjmaclean reported it to FBI without telling him, saying he thinks he is just a standup guy who has strong sense of right and wrong.

The person who reported offer to FBI was TSA whistleblower/air marshal @rjmaclean. Kiriakou had told him about it at a party in Oct and he thought Giuliani may be selling pardons. Without telling Kiriakou he filed a report with the FBI. “I felt duty-bound to report it,” he said.

Kiriakou said he was taken aback by the price tag to hire Giuliani to help him with a pardon. “I laughed. Two million bucks — are you out of your mind? Even if I had two million bucks, I wouldn’t spend it to recover a $700,000 pension,” Kiriakou said.

RUDY NEWS: Kiriakou told Giuliani in a meeting last summer about his pardon quest. When Giuliani went to the bathroom, a Giuliani confidant turned to Kiriakou and suggested Giuliani could help with pardon. “It’s going to cost $2 million — he’s going to want two million bucks.”
