Our sincerest condolences to all her family and friends. She will be missed by everyone at Cork Public Museum. The picture shows Stella and current curator Dan Breen at the opening of the museum extension in February 2005. RIP https://t.co/OMVqroJwzw
On culture night, we too would like to extend our condolences to Stella’s family. Cork Public Museum would not be what it is today without her. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam. https://t.co/1SIWRceCzZ
On this culture night, we would like to remember our previous Curator Stella Cherry who died unexpectedly last Wednesday. She was the driving force behind the museum’s extension and it now stands as a testament to her work in preserving and exhibiting Cork’s heritage.
Finally, although Cork is one of my favourite cities, I have also enjoyed many visits to East and West Cork too: Youghal and Kinsale in the sunshine, scenic Glandore and of course @RoyalCork Crosshaven, to name a few. I know I will definitely return to Cork in the years to come. https://t.co/0yyhLguNFM
In Cork in 2018, along with @SimonCoveney & @CorkChamber, we launched the Joining the Dots report on economic opportunities between the UK & South West of Ireland. Delighted also to have appointed the first Honorary Consul to strengthen 🇬🇧& 🇮🇪 prosperity links. https://t.co/QeXcGlPSfO
Many of my visits have celebrated the rich maritime tradition of Cork as the home of the 🇮🇪 @naval_service, including accompanying HRH The Prince of Wales to visit the @NMCI_Ireland & Haulbowline Naval Base & welcoming friends from Cork aboard @RoyalNavy @HMSDiamond https://t.co/4gxLgirmAq
I had the pleasure of accompanying HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall on a visit to Cork City in 2018. We followed in HM The Queen’s footsteps in the iconic @EnglishMarket to mark its 230th anniversary & were welcomed to another historic Cork institution, @UCC https://t.co/4oHtbsC0wv
Last week I enjoyed my last visit to Cork as British Ambassador to Ireland, visiting Lord Mayor @Joekavanaghcork at City Hall. I will leave with very fond memories of Cork and the relationships built with friends and partners there over the years. Some highlights below 1/6 https://t.co/Bc7zHQ4Rl6
