In his palace, Bashar al-Assad blasted capitalism, sanctions and "neoliberalism" for Syria's woes. But he had little to offer Syrians outside, who are going hungry, struggling to get bread and fuel and selling their hair to buy essentials. w/@hwaida_saad https://t.co/9fTVHb9Ynk
@NYTBen @hwaida_saad Thanks for this important article, it was beneficial. There is one vital note regarding the statement "Having won Syria's war", this would certainly be rejected by the free #Syrian people and classed as an inaccurate statement, which seems far from the reality on the ground!
@NYTBen @hwaida_saad Yes the battle was won but the war is still ongoing, bashars thugs moto was Bashar or we burn the country well they burnt the country and did a fine job in doing that, millions displaced either in Europe, turkey or idlib and freed areas,
@NYTBen @hwaida_saad Even though situation here in #Idlib is difficult it is much better than living in poverty of #Assad regime Syria.
@NYTBen @nytimes @hwaida_saad Sounds like the Democrats
@NYTBen @nytimes @hwaida_saad He needs to think above the norm align the country to larger nations build back the economy feed the people and start to pray in order to bring normalcy to Syria 🇸🇾 Such a beautiful county torn to ravished pieces. Still not too late save Syria 🇸🇾
@NYTBen @hwaida_saad Hi @NYTBen ! Sincerely thank you for covering this & for the photo of Idlib still engaged in revolut'n against hereditary dictator Assad. Also: Cosign Ibrahim comment: the headline (which i know u might not have a say on) is cringe: 1.not a war but revoltn 2.Rev not over still on
